Protect the Beautiful Landscape

James McDermott

protect the beautiful landscape

that is your queer body

don’t let them walk all over you

you are private property

don’t let them pick on your petals

don’t let them feast on your fruits

don’t let them erect fences around you

to break you down and box you in

don’t let them buy or sell you

don’t let them build their towers of torment

don’t let them pollute you with toxic shame

don’t let them send you to war with yourself

protect the beautiful landscape

that is your queer body
